Building Profitable Businesses in Falkirk

Does anyone have experience of Networking Clubs (BNI etc) in Central Scotland or elsewhere? Would be very interested to hear your views before I take the plunge!

Hello Rachel,
I am a member of the BNI in the Stirling (Gateway) chapter. Firstly BNI is not for everyone, it does only help some businesses and you get out basically what you put in. Simply its a group of people who actively look for business opertunities for you whilst doing their business and it works!

You can visit BNI meetings only twice no matter where the chapter is and there is only ever one business of each type. When you join, you can create power teams which are just others within the chapter that can help you build your business thus maximising the BNI potential for you..

As for other networking events I can personally recommend, FEAT networking, I try to go to as many of these I can. The guys at FEAT have a wealth of knowledge and can help in many ways, especially if you are looking specific types of business, they can introduce you. Also, you should look into the "www.thebestof.co.uk/falkirk" and join their site. This is run by David and Margaret Smith. They fanatically promote your business and they don't take everybody on board, you need to be recommended. They also have great business networking nights with businesses from Stirling also.

There is meeting soon in Airth Castle, not sure about the date. Another benefit about the Best of Falkirk is you can get much better Google rating which are included in the small monthly fee. I am listed on the Falkirk and Stirling sites. I would highly recommend all of the above.

Hope this is of help and if I can do anything regarding this please let me know. Ross@arm-it.co.uk.

Kind reagards

Ross

Thanks very much for this and for your voicemail message. Unfortunately I am not able to make tomorrow but would be very interested to come along. My business is still really in the start-up phase - ie. I'm all set to go but still employed at the moment. Do the Networking club ever meet in an evening?

Hello Rachel
We have a number of local events that are great for networking. There is one on Wednesday at the Falkirk Entrise Action Trust - Here is a link to the information. If you can manage along we can tell you about other active Networking Clubs in the area and introduce you to other people who can also help. It is a good idea to phone Mandy to let her know that you will be along on Wednesday.

With kind regards & best wishes - Falkirk Business Admin.
