Hi James - didn't have time to eat breakfast because as usual enjoy chatting too much - even at that time - now you know why my husband is out to work at 0600 every morning!! It is proving to be logistically impossible for me to join BNI as no one to watch my two boys. Looks like I will just have to content myself with being a professional substitute for the time being (hubbie goes into work late on these days but cannot make it a regular thing). Have just joined the Marketing Club so will catch up there. Angela

Hi James.... thanks very much for your message. I have been to BNI at The Plough a few times as a visitor and as a sub. I know Paul Harper and pass business his way and I've subbed a few times for Mike Vikers. Anyway, thank you for the invite but I must decline. Purely for the reason that I cannot commit to the meeting once a week. Once again, thanks for the invite and maybe we will meet one day. Warm regards, Cariss

Hi Jim

Thanks for your message. Things are a bit slow to start with but building up. Making lots of contacts so hopefully busy days ahead!!

I was really interested in your template idea as your web page looks really professional, so I will be looking into that, although as a designer I feel it is a bit of a cop out (but if it works.. it works!).

Still working on that family portrait idea.... trouble is we have two beautiful children and a very cute dog and we are both very un-photogenic. Can't have everything I suppose. Still think it would be a nice way to celebrate our silver wedding though.... still working on it....

Take care, speak soon

Hi Jim

Re your comment to Karen about web templates. No need for any apologies!

Web design, these days, is perhaps a misnomer as it is less an activity and more a process. It should more correctly be renamed web development and management as it is more about function, useability, accessibility and the way it contributes to overall business objectives rather than only aethetics, important as it is.

Most, if not all, web sites these days use a template for form and layout, and if not there is a good argument why they should.

There are many good sources of templates that come with all the necessary css and page code that with very little modification can be adapted very successfully to build an individual looking web site.

And, if there is an existing template available that can provide and form the basis of a new site there is no point reinventing the wheel.

In Karen's case, as a graphic designer, I'm sure she would be able to produce the design & graphics which could form the basis of a very good template.
